Mission Healthcare Facilities Dedicated to Continuous Quality Improvement Earn Prestigious Award
The following Mission Healthcare facilities have earned a Quality Award from The American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. Bethel Care Center of St. Paul, MN; Evergreen Terrace of Grand Rapids, MN; Red Wing Healthcare Center of Red Wing, MN and Wheatcrest Hills of Britton, South Dakota, have earned the prestigious Level 1 Award for Quality. In 2008, St. Lucas Care Center of Faribault, MN received their Level 1 Quality Award.
As Step I Award recipients, these facilities have demonstrated their organization-wide commitment to person-centered care, defined their principal customers and their expectations, and indicated how they will strive to meet their needs.
The AHCA/NCAL national Quality Award Program was created in 1996 and is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award-the nation’s premier award for recognizing distinguished achievement. The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards are presented to three levels of achievement: the first level Step I Award; a more rigorous Step II award; and a comprehensive Step III award. “Our Quality Award is the most prestigious recognition of quality within the long term care profession,” said AHCA/NCAL president and CEO, Bruce Yarwood.
Mission Healthcare is a provider of long-term care and assisted living facilities in Minnesota and South Dakota. Paul Contris, owner and Founder of Mission Healthcare, LLC, states “Mission Healthcare’s achievement shows that dedicated frontline caregivers, administrators, nurses and physicians are committed to providing quality care and to meeting residents’ needs.” All Mission Healthcare facilities have now earned the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award. These facilities serve approximately 600 residents and offer specialized programs such as transitional care, memory care, and ventilator units.
